SS2 Gohan (Youth) is an amazing support unit that can fit very well on both Super TEQ and Hybrid Saiyans; his Passive supports three different types, making him very versatile and the boost he gives is very good, especially considering the units he is going to be paired up with.

SS2 Gohan (Youth) is a very good floater on this team; in general support units are very valuable on a team with units like [Golden Fist] SS3 Goku and [Strength Surpassing God] SS God SS Vegito, because, since they get an ATK boost when launching the Super Attack, they will hit a lot harder when they are on rotation together. While Prepared for Battle is not that useful of a link on this team, having Shattering the Limit can actually turn out to be pretty useful; the 2 Ki from Shattering the Limit with the 2 Ki from the support Passive, will bring SS3 Goku to 13 Ki since he is going to be on rotation with [Astounding Transformation] Super Saiyan 3 Goku (Angel), only needing 5 Ki from the board to get his strongest Super Attack off. The other rotation, with Super Saiyan God SS Vegito and Peerless Gleam Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, doesn't need Ki at all, since they already get an automatic Super Attack by being linked together, but the 30% ATK and DEF boost will matter a lot, especially for Super Saiyan God SS Vegito. SS2 Gohan (Youth) is one of the best support unit on this team, only second to [Risky Super Attack] Tien.
A team with so many LRs, can definitely use the extra Ki added by SS2 Gohan (Youth), especially since his Passive support 3 different types; [Second Super Saiyan] Super Saiyan Trunks (Teen) will get 2 Ki from his Passive and 4 Ki from links shared and Budding Warriors Trunks (Kid) %26 Goten (Kid) will also appreciate the +30% ATK since they get their 120% ATK boost upon Super Attack. This unit has only one problem on this team, he shares the same name as the hardest hitter in the category, [Full-Tilt Kamehameha] SS 2 Gohan (Youth), making it impossible to use both together; if you don't have this LR, you can easily run the support SS2 Gohan (Youth), but if you do The Spirited Golden Warrior Super Saiyan Gohan (Teen) and Vanguard Warrior's True Value Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Teen) are going to be better choices, despite the fact that one gives a lower boost and the other gives no Ki.
Supreme damage multiplier is not that much, but the unit does raise its ATK by - when launching the Super Attack and the Ki multiplier is not that bad either.
SS2 Gohan (Youth)'s Leader Skill gives a decent boost to HP and ATK for three different types, but it comes with no DEF and with only 2 Ki; this unit is not really usable as a Leader.
The fact that the Passive supports three different types is very good and the boost it gives is quite high considering it also provides allies with 2 Ki; the Passive has no HP restriction, which is also nice. SS2 Gohan (Youth) gets no boost at start of turn expect for the one from his own support Passive; a boost upon Super Attack would have made this unit even more amazing, but as a long-awaited Dokkan Awakening this is not bad at all.
To see just how important support units are in general, I am going to look at [Golden Fist] SS3 Goku and see how much of a difference having SS2 Gohan (Youth) on rotation can make.
(I am going to assume SS3 Goku can reach the same amount of Ki even without SS2 Gohan (Youth), even though it's unlikely; the unit will be put on rotation with [Astounding Transformation] SS3 Goku (Angel))
SS3 Goku at 18 Ki Super Attack without SS2 Gohan (Youth) 19.060 (Base ATK +2000) x 3,4 (Leader Skill) x 1,1 (% Links active) + 2000 (Flat Links active) x 1,75 (Ki multiplier) x 2,8 (Passive Boost on SA) 6 (mega-colossal damage +30% from SA 20 +30% from Potential System) = 2.345.085 If we factor the lv.5 Critical, the average ATK will be 2.587.801 |
SS3 Goku at 18 Ki Super Attack with SS2 Gohan (Youth) on rotation 19.060 x 3,4 x 1,3 (Support Passive) x 1,1 + 4500 x 1,75 x 2,8 x 6 = 2.856.789 The average ATK will be 3.399.579 SS3 Goku's ATK increased by 811.778 If we also factor the increase in SS3 Goku (Angel) and the average ATK of the unit on this rotation into the equation, SS2 Gohan (Youth) will generate 1.406.781 ATK (assuming "massively raises ATK" equates to a 100% boost on his damage multiplier) |
SS2 Gohan (Youth)'s links are decent; Prepared for Battle is not particularly useful on Super TEQ, but it does have some use on Hybrid Saiyans, even though Shocking Speed would have been overall a better Ki link, and Shattering the Limit is actually pretty good, better than getting Fierce Battle in this case. Super Saiyan is a common ATK link and, if Saiyan Warrior Race and Kamehameha are turned into percentage-based links, SS2 Gohan (Youth) will be even better both offensively and as a support unit.
Unit | Explanation |
---|---|
[Golden Fist] SS3 Goku | SS3 Goku shares "Shattering the Limit" with SS2 Gohan (Youth) and, linked with this unit, he can activate both "Super Saiyan" and "Kamehameha"; in addition to the 2 Ki, which SS3 Goku definitely appreciates, the stat boost given by the Passive is particularly important since the LR gets its 180% ATK boost when performing the Super Attack. The difference between getting the boost at start of turn and getting upon Super Attack in this is of 54% more ATK; instead of 210% (2,8 + 0,3), the actual boost is of 264% (2,8 x 1,3) since they are factored in different moments. |
[Second Super Saiyan] Super Saiyan Trunks (Teen) | SS Trunks (Teen) receives in total 6 Ki from being linked with SS2 Gohan (Youth), 2 Ki from the support Passive and 4 Ki from "Prepared for Battle" and "Shattering the Limit", giving him an automatic 12-17 Ki Super Attack; the boost from SS2 Gohan (Youth)' Passive, added on top of SS Trunks (Teen)'s Passive, will result in a 150% ATK boost and the additional DEF will further increase the LR's ability to tank, especially after the additional 30% from the Super Attack is applied. |
Budding Warriors Trunks (Kid) %26 Goten (Kid) | Goten (Kid) & Trunks (Kid) are a self-sufficient unit, so they don't need Ki as much as other LRs, but they can still appreciate the 2 Ki from SS2 Gohan (Youth)'s Passive and the 2 Ki from "Shattering The Limit". Goten (Kid) & Trunks (Kid) is another unit that gets his ATK boost upon Super Attack, effectively equating to a 186% boost when the support is on rotation. |
The best way to go for this unit's Potential System is to invest primarily in Critical; the chance of further raising the ATK for one turn does sound very appealing, but since the Additional Attack is not guaranteed to be a Super Attack, the standard lv.20 Critical and lv.6 Additional will always output more damage. If you really want to try and get that second "massively raises ATK" with the additional Super Attack, you could try and go for a lv.17 Critical and lv.9 Additional. I wouldn't advise investing in Dodge since the unit is likely to end up in the last slot, the will have to survive a whole rotation to attack SS2 Gohan (Youth) and the chance for an attack to fall in that slot is only 25%.
Both before and after the Dokkan Awakening, this unit keeps the same name, unlike [Full-Tilt Kamehameha] SS 2 Gohan (Youth), whose name is SS Gohan (Youth) as a base SSR; this unit does not have a farmable Super Attack and you should not invest Kais on it since its main role is to support not to deal damage.
