Rating: A

Thousands of Wishes Goku is the Login Bonus reward for having played for 1000 days, he has the best "rainbow" Leader Skill in the game so far and he is overall a pretty good unit; having a nuker type of Passive with such high stats can equate to an incredible amount of damage and, in addition to this, Goku is also able to recover a lot of HP and with enough orbs he can be quite a good tank

  • Pros

    Amazing Leader Skill
Can potentially generate a lot of damage
Can potentially be a very good tank
    HP recovery
    "Farmable SA"
  • Cons

    1000 days to get him
    Very inconsistent without appropriate support

Teams and Role

Thousands of Wishes Goku can currently be used on Super STR, Majin Buu Saga and his own team, which I am going to refer to as "Rainbow".

Super STR

Goku is a pretty good unit, but he just doesn't find a place on this team; his lack of common Ki links and his want for Ki spheres to perform at his best will likely throw off the balance of the rotation he is on. Just like [Hidden Power Unleashed] Ultimate Gohan, Thousands of Wishes Goku only has one useful Ki link to work with and the team he is trying to fit on doesn't have enough space for him. Ideally you would want this unit in the first of the rotation in order to get the most out of the damage he can generate with his Super Attack mechanic, bt realistically speaking he should be a floater; it's much easier to keep the consistent units on rotation and save a bunch of Ki spheres for him to nuke with since not even the other LR on the team, [All or Nothing] SS God SS Vegito requires much thanks to his self-sufficiency. Had this Goku had Shattering the Limit, he would have been able to fit much better, but instead he ended up being given out as a base LR with no Revival links.

"Majin Buu Saga"

The main star of the team is [Limitless Radiance] Super Vegito, both offensively and defensively, and he is going to always be on both rotations; the real problem with having Goku on this team is that, by pairing him with Super Vegito, you are losing potential damage, since Fierce Battle and Super Saiyan are not going to be active, and consistency, since the two units only share Prepared for Battle. In the end Goku is going to be at best a floater, but there’s a problem with that: the best part about Goku is not his nuker Passive, it’s the fact that both his 12-17 Ki and his 18+ Ki Super Attack gives his allies’ an ATK boost and by having him as a floater you are not going to benefit from it.

Super ATK

Goku starts off with lower damage multipliers to make up for the boost he gives upon Super Attack, 20% for the 12-17 Ki and 25% for the 18+ Ki Super Attack; that’s a pretty sizeable boost, but, as I said, it’s not going to matter unless Goku is in the first or at least the second slot of the rotation.

Leader Skill

Easily the best part about this unit is the Leader Skill; Goku in fact has the best “rainbow” Leader Skill in the game, giving 3 Ki and a 100% boost to all stats to all types.

Passive Skill

There are few things that can make a nuker better and not being completely dependant on the Ki from the board is one of them; Goku starts off with an unconditional 77% ATK boost, a pretty good one for what is essentially a Free-To-Play LR, and gains 7% ATK and DEF for each orb he collects. Goku’s Passive, on top of his high stats, makes him capable of hitting hard and tanking quite well with enough orbs; in addition to this Goku recovers 7777 HP per orb collected, a pretty good amount even in the current meta.

Link Skills

As I said, Goku lacks common Ki links: Prepared for Battle and The Saiyan Lineage are good enough for any other unit, but not for an LR; Goku also lacks common ATK links like Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan, which definitely hinders his allies’ damage potential and his own.

Best units to pair with

UnitExplanation
Honest Admiration Super Saiyan Cabba
Honest Admiration Super Saiyan Cabba
SS Cabba, as expected from the best Super STR support unit, works very well with Goku; his Passive, together with “Prepared for Battle” and “The Saiyan Lineage”, are enough to guarantee him a 12 Ki Super Attack, and, while SS Cabba does not activate any of Goku’s ATK links, he can make up for that with his 40% ATK and DEF support.
Furious Kamehameha Super Saiyan Goten (Kid)
Furious Kamehameha Super Saiyan Goten (Kid)
This SS Goten (Kid), despite the fact that he doesn’t share any link at all with Goku, can be a pretty good choice as a unit to have on the team with him since his Passive generates rainbow Ki spheres, creating paths to help him nuke and making the team overall more consistent.
The Spirited Golden Warrior Super Saiyan Gohan (Teen)
The Spirited Golden Warrior Super Saiyan Gohan (Teen)
SS Gohan (Teen) is a very good support unit that provides all Super types with 2 Ki and a 25% ATK and DEF boost, he shares “The Saiyan Lineage” with Goku and he can activate “Z-Fighters” for him, a 15% ATK link just like “Fierce Battle”, but way less common.
Zealous Roar Super Saiyan Goku
Zealous Roar Super Saiyan Goku
SS Goku shares “Prepared for Battle” with Goku and the two can activate “Z-Fighters” for each other; 2 Ki and a 15% ATK boost by linking these two units together.
[Hidden Power Unleashed] Ultimate Gohan
[Hidden Power Unleashed] Ultimate Gohan
Ultimate Gohan shares “The Saiyan Lineage” with Goku and activates both “All in The Family” and “Z-Fighters” for him; in addition to this Ultimate Gohan will also boost Goku’s DEF by 50% with his support Passive.

Hidden Potential

Since Goku’s 12-17 Super Attack does add a 20% ATK boost to him and all allies for 1 turn, it’s not a bad idea to invest a bit further than lv.6 in Additional Attacks, but the priority should still be Criticals, especially because, as I explained, Goku is mostly going to be a floater. Dodge is not needed at all, the unit can be maxed out for “free” and gets a DEF boost together with the ATK by collecting Ki from the board.

Should I use Elder Kais/Grand Kais?

Since Goku comes as a base LR, he can’t be reversed and it’s unlikely that you are going to be able to raise his Super Attack to 20 by using Long-awaited Fight Goku with a 1% chance without losing your sanity; he is not a bad unit, he has an amazing Leader Skill and he can be very good for Super Battle Road; if you have played long enough to get this unit and you are planning on using him, then 19 Kais are not going to be a waste.
